Heidrun's garden is a very special place. When we first moved here almost 30 years ago, it was largely an overgrown and muddy vegetable garden. Improved drainage and more grass were the first priorities, to support the outdoor activities of two small boys. As they grew up, the emphasis changed and flower beds were created, a little here, a little there. Over the years, these have been extended and have matured. Much care has gone into their location and what they contain. Throughout the year, the growth of the flowers is encouraged with compost and manure from the local farmer. Careful planting and replanting ensures a harmonious spectrum of colours throughout the year. The result is as much a work of art as a garden. A few years ago, Kate Nielson visited it and was inspired to write her first ever poem. In May 2005, Migros held a competition to find the most beautiful garden in Switzerland and Heidrun won! If you missed reading the article in the Migros Magazine (in german), you can download it To look at some of the flowers and views in the garden, click here, and to see a selection of spring flowers, click here.
